Every Man Is An Island is artist and multi-instrumentist Lee Wanner‘s upcoming solo album. Adding so many varied influences to a progressive metal, or djent perhaps, foundation that it’s difficult to categorize his music as such, this is certainly progressive in the literal way of the term.

News: Out of Obscura; Into Alkaloid
Defining themselves as “the World’s most extreme Prog Metal band” (we‘ll be the judge of that, thank you), Alkaloid started a crowdfunding campaign for their upcoming album The Malkuth Grimoire.
The band consists of ex-Obscura’s Christian Muenzner, Linus Klausenitzer, and Hannes Großmann, joined by Morean on vocals, and Danny Tunker on other guitars. With such a stellar lineup, we are to expect stellar musicianship and song construction. But what the first single Carbon Phrases let us hear is embarrassingly underwhelming. Review: In Torment – Sphere Of Metaphysical Incarnations
In Torment is a technical death metal band from Brazil. Sphere of Metaphysical Incarnations is their third and latest album, released through Rapture Records… no, not this one, THIS one (and yes, that’s a myspace link).
They make that traditional kind of tech-death, nothing too fancy or sparkly, just great riffs, blast beats, and cool guitar solos. Ever member is skilled on their instrument, as we should expect, and the construction of songs is good. That said, it’s a pretty boring album.
