Review: In Torment – Sphere Of Metaphysical Incarnations

1 - coverIn Torment is a technical death metal band from Brazil. Sphere of Metaphysical Incarnations is their third and latest album, released through Rapture Records… no, not this one, THIS one (and yes, that’s a myspace link).

They make that traditional kind of tech-death, nothing too fancy or sparkly, just great riffs, blast beats, and cool guitar solos. Check out Future Reflection, Mammoth‘s new progressive rock single. Now overlapping the Metal continent a bit for the climax. I have to appreciate the changing tempos and time signatures as well as timbres of the instruments throughout the song. In a too-short 5 minute, they really make us travel!

I can’t wait for their next album already!… Read more

The German band Der Weg einer Freiheit (meaning “The Path to Freedom”) just released a live studio update for their upcoming album, scheduled in Spring 2015. The song, Der stille Fluss begins with slow chords before hitting you in the face with fast-paced blast beats and incessant energy. I didn’t know DWeF but this sold me! I’ll be waiting for the album impatiently!… Read more
