Disappointments of 2014

As everybody, me included, made their best of 2014 list, I think that nobody (well, almost) has written about what disappointed them that year. And there’s plenty of stuff that disappointed me! My only guess is that they are afraid of the hate coming from fans of said disappointing bands/albums. But I don’t care! I’m here to tell the truth. Well, my opinion, rather, if you’re inclined to hear it.

Review: Seer – Vol. 1

From Beautiful British-Columbia comes Seer, a vintage-sounding stoner/sludge metal band which makes them, from this point of view, similar to Dawnbringer. Obviously, the two bands have wildly different influences and goals for their music, but still.

Review: Lee Wanner – Every Man Is An Island

LeeWanner-EveryManIsanIslandLee Wanner is a particular fellow, music-wise. His now defunct (from what I understood) band, Rejectionary Art, released one album of pure heavy grooviness, and one other of varied musical genres applied to djent, the latter in a rather small dose. All the while, his solo albums ranged from purely jazz awesomeness to weird and creepy classical music with foley, and a funky 80s-style album, among other ones. Since we started to host amazing albums on our own bandcamp page, in March 2014, with the outstanding Fountainhead album Fear Is The Enemy, many other artists agreed to have their album hosted there, totally free, for you guys, the readers and the fans of great music; those who will seek out new challenging music.

Review: Fountainhead – Home EP

I’m glad the first album I get to review in 2015 is from Tom, Fountainhead. Tom, the fretless guitarist, at least that’s what we know him for, mostly on his Fear Is The Enemy album, which was highly praised by us and the rest of the metal community, even if it was barely metal at all.
