II II II working on a new album!

II II II, the experimental, jazz-mathcore band who brought us A Conundrum on My Coffee Table hit us, this week, with a so-called “Maaasssive 222 album preview”.

What can we expect? Judging by this instrumental, unfinished preview: more of the same, but enhanced, great music!

It seems that publishing that album preview has revived the creative fibre in the band, and that this album now “has to get finished”, according to a facebook comment from II II II themselves. So, when? I don’t know, but if? Certainly so! I’m pretty excited on this, and so should you!… Read more

The Pneumatic Transit premieres Enochian Dyskinesia

The new baby of Jeff Zampillo, formerly of Exotic Animal Petting Zoo, The Pneumatic Transit, has released about 3 minutes of one of their new songs, called Enochian Dyskinesia. It seems like their songs are too extensive to single them out, so we get only 3 minutes of one. And that 3 minutes finishes way too quickly to my taste. Well, at least I kinda know what to expect from their album, “Concerto for Double Moon”. Ilevens have released a video for their single Drowns

Microtonal rock band Ilevens, led by the mind of Brendan Byrnes, is one of the only examples I know of of a microtonal band ready for live performances. They use 22 notes per octave instruments and have released a bunch of demos that were sung in a made-up language that I’ll refer to as ilevian from now on, but they seem to have gone back to good ol’ English for this song.
