News: Third Ion will release metal-meets-chiptune album 13/8 Bit!

Mixing metal with chiptune, or retro-sounding synth sounds, isn’t something new, many bands or artists have done it on different levels, from C-Jeff to Haken, but a newcomer that seems to do it right is always a good news! Review: Zelophilia – Lust, Loathing, & Love

You want crazy? You get crazy! First of all I think you have to know that zelophilia is when you are sexually aroused by jealousy. The more you know… They label themselves as a “so called ‘band'”, yes, the “so called” is part of their self-description, and they say of themselves that they sound like “a childishly simplified, watered down combination of Meshuggah, The Locust, Dillinger Escape Plan, and Daughters.” Which bears some truth. I can’t say I’m unsatisfied.

The album, considerably long, at 73 minutes, begins starkly with Carbon Phrases, which was the first song the band streamed before the album came out. It’s a rock-solid, or rather metal-solid, 9 minute … Read more
