The new Gigan album is everything Gigan is about… Long titles and psychedelic extreme metal.
Gigan‘s last album Quasi-Hallucinogenic Sonic Landscapes has put down the basics of what to expect from this jolly company : the songs are intense, intricate, and shrouded in aural mystery.
Multi-Dimensional Fractal Sorcery and Super Science is no disappointment in this regard. Gigan succeeds once again at bringing you a challenging and entertaining piece of musical sorcery. What betrays any Gigan song when listening to it are surely the drums. I have and probably will never find another band’s drummer that plays similarly to Gigan‘s. I mean, it’s fast and furious (the movies are bad, though), and it has a prominent place in the mix, right in your ears!
Their sound didn’t change a bit from their previous album, and that’s a good thing since they keep delivering more of the same, awesome, tasty soup of notes and rhythms. I don’t really know how “big” of a thing the band is, right now, but it clearly deserves to be BIGGER! I want to see them tour, and I want the world to love them! Seriously, if everybody liked Gigan, the world would be a better place.
The bottom line is: this album fucking rocks, give it a listen, buy it, make love with it, and be buried with it (like the pharahoes used to).
Go and give the boys a thumbs up on visagenovel.
