You’re still craving for technical progressive death metal in the vein of Augury and Beyond Creation? Crave no more, for Quebec’s Deviant Process is here with strong independent bass lines, soul-crushing riffs and stampeding drums. They premiered the song Unconscious on PRC Music, from the album Paroxysm, that will come out in… March 2016. Well, that’s a fucking long time to wait! That’s like 6 months!!! Ughh… At least, the song is damn solid and shows great promises. Since the band is close to home for me, maybe I’ll be lucky enough to see them live and maybe hear … Read more
What October has in stores for us
I’ll just write here what I’m excited for in October. Keep in mind that this is only the music that I know will come in the next month, as of now. There will certainly be a lot of other awesome finds throughout the month! Also, if I miss anything, or want to share a band/album you’re excited for that comes out in October, please comment below!
First of all, Slice the Cake‘s album Odyssey to the West was supposed to be released in April of 2015, but was then delayed indefinitely. Maybe, just maybe, October is the right month? … Read more
So Hideous – Laurestine
So Hideous have carved a name for themselves in the post-metal scene with their focused and well-written first album “Last Poem/First Light”, just last year. They’re returning with Laurestine, out October 16th on Prothetic Records. Let’s talk more about the band and the album, now.

Then comes the orchestral arrangements, and only then are added the guitars, bass, drums, and vocals. That makes for very emotional music that doesn’t rely on riffs or pretty much any other metal trope … Read more
Nylithia finally announce Hyperthrash!
After years of waiting – the album was first announced and teased in 2011 with the song Trainsaw – Hyperthrash now has an official track listing and release date: 21 November 2015. I’ll put the track listing below. There’s also a new song, “Razor”, to stream. However, in my opinion, it’s not as good as any of the others that the band already showed us: Trainsaw, Immersed in the Maniacal, Vein of Creation, and Hyperthrash, but it’s still a really good tune.
You can pre-order the album now on their bandcamp page, or wait patiently for the songs to stream … Read more
Túcan – Towers
This band was brought to my attention by someone posting it on our facebook page, describing it as “highly experimental flamenco”. I was immediately in love. Also I’d like to reiterate the fact that we do take submissions, so send us anything and everything you love and we’ll skim the best. Do you think I create new avant bands out of thin air? Nah, it’s all about connections.
So… Tower is Túcan‘s second full-length album, and their fourth release if we don’t count the singles that ended up on this album. Straight away, the band is a “big band” … Read more
