News: Out of Obscura; Into Alkaloid


Defining themselves as “the World’s most extreme Prog Metal band” (we‘ll be the judge of that, thank you), Alkaloid started a crowdfunding campaign for their upcoming album The Malkuth Grimoire.

The band consists of ex-Obscura’s Christian Muenzner, Linus Klausenitzer, and Hannes Großmann, joined by Morean on vocals, and Danny Tunker on other guitars. Review: In Torment – Sphere Of Metaphysical Incarnations

1 - coverIn Torment is a technical death metal band from Brazil. Sphere of Metaphysical Incarnations is their third and latest album, released through Rapture Records… no, not this one, THIS one (and yes, that’s a myspace link).

They make that traditional kind of tech-death, nothing too fancy or sparkly, just great riffs, blast beats, and cool guitar solos. Review: Nott – Abyssal EP


Nott has, since the project’s inception, been about ultimate heaviness and bleakness. I’ve known this one-man project since the Obsidian Depths EP, and I have also downloaded their first work, Devouring Deities. All of them fulfilled my needs for insanely heavy, slow, dissonant and distorted music. The new arrival, Abyssal, is no different.
